This Dealing with Difficult People training course helps us identify unique difficulties and dynamics of dealing with people given our positions of authority, public service and the reputation of government. We look at the unique difficulties that we might run into relative to our unique positions.
The learning objectives in this course that our instructor wants to provide for you include:
-Understanding different difficult situations and types of difficult behaviors.
-Gaining insights into your own communication and body language barriers.
-Providing ways to defuse, deflect and deal with difficult people.
-Helping you find ways to state your own ideas or position in an assertive yet non-confrontational way.
-Helping you develop coping mechanisms for these difficult situations and people.
We will get into discussions of what action steps TO DO and what are cautions or DON'T DO action steps. In this material, we also cover dealing with hot buttons, the interference of body language and space management when dealing with difficult people.
